Microsoft is trying its best to keep up the regular maintenance of its new game console system Xbox One. The recent updates the system has received demonstrates the interest of the Redmond Company in its new videogame beast. This March, Microsoft has launched a major patch that includes new features for Xbox One that some players will love. Take a look at the main aspects of this update.
Better Multimedia Experience
Some users have claimed that their Xbox One systems don’t perform very well on certain TV screens. For this reason, the support for 50Hz output has been improved, fixing some frame rate issues while they are watching TV through the Internet option on the Xbox One. This is good news, especially for our pals in Europe.
However, not only has the visual aspect has been modified, the sound has also received a proper update. The system now supports 5.1 Dolby Digital by software over the HDMI connection. This way, the Xbox system will support external sound devices such as bars and other advanced configurations for those gamers that want to make the most of their hardware equipment. Additionally, volume and sound control have been improved with voice commands “Xbox volume up or down” to offer a comfortable way to modify the sound level.
Connectivity and Internet
The default browser, Internet Explorer version developed for Xbox One, now supports gestures captured by the Kinect camera for zooming in & out. The Bing search engine has been improved with a quick search option showing the results on screen in just seconds, but if you want to investigate more, the system will redirect you to the main search engine’s website.
Synchronizing your smart device, tablet or smartphone, you will have access to some of the connectivity features from the device without having to change anything on the TV
One of the main aspects of the patch is in regards to SmartGlass, which has received a new feature, notifications from Xbox Live messages. Synchronizing your smart device, tablet or smartphone, you will have access to some of the connectivity features from the device without having to change anything on the TV. Check out the activities of your friends or see the highlights of their recent events with your SmartGlass option.
General System fixes
Additionally, in this update Microsoft has included some drivers for third party headsets with a firmware update on the control pad. The company has also updated the driver for the recently released multimedia control, in order to improve the multimedia features, for turning Xbox One more into a multimedia center.
This update sends a clear message out to all Xbox One users: the console war has just started, and we won’t be the losers. According to Marc Whitten, Microsoft will keep launching regular updates whenever they find new issues sent in by users’ feedback and will keep innovating through this new system. Launching this major update before Titanfall shows how Microsoft is taking care of its customers. This time they won’t let you down.
